In May 2021 we were awarded a sixteen-week contract to upgrade the Plumbing and Mechanical Services at the University Hospital of Wales Children’s Cancer Ward. This included multiple Clinical wash basins, Doc M suite’s, shower facilities, new copper, and drainage work. Located on the roof top there was a new air handling unit, this required us to extend pipework from an existing plant room to feed the new AHU. All pipework was to be medium grade steel pipe and would include new valves, gauges, and a pump set. All pipework was pressure tested upon completion, insulated using foil face insulation, commissioned, and chlorinated before handover. All test certificates and product data would be gathered as part of our operations manual. The contract was completed on time and ready for the patients.

In August 2022 we were awarded a twelve- week contract to upgrade the sanitaryware at Neath Port Talbot Hospital Mental Health Unit. The programme of works would be staggered, this allowing three weeks per unit to complete all M&E and builder’s work. By doing so this enabled the Hospital trust to manage patient numbers safely. Our first job was to take pre-work water samples and test for Legionella, Pseudomonadota and bacteria. The samples would be sent off for analysis. The plumbing services would be extended to accommodate the new layout, all sanitaryware would be Anti Ligature protected. This contract is still ongoing and on schedule for completion on the 22nd of October 2022.

In June 2022 we were awarded a twelve-week contract to upgrade the heating and cooling system at the University Hospital of Wales Spinal assessment unit. We removed all existing air conditioning units for demolition, these were to be relocated at a later date. The new heating and cooling system consisted of new duct work throughout, AC units and an air handling unit which was located outside in a purpose-built compound. There were also some minor plumbing works for a new Doc M shower area. We experienced some minor delays due to the fabrication of the AHU, however the project was handed back to the trust in good time.

On the back of multiple club promotions Ynyshir Football Club had to upgrade their changing room facilities. In May 2022 we were awarded a six-week project to complete in time ready for an important cup match. The project consisted of a new plant room, LTHW radiators, Doc M suite, toilets, washbasins, showers, urinals and all associated plumbing and drainage. Immediately orders were placed to ensure the plant arrived with enough time for us to install it. Working alongside other trades and coordinating this project was the key to achieving its completion date. As and when areas became available to work in, we increased our labour capacity and got the work completed as soon as possible. The project was handed over on time ready for their important cup match. The appreciation shown towards us from Ynyshir FC was extremely satisfying.

In January 2021 we were awarded a large contract lasting eighteen months at the Old Windsor Hotel, Barry. The site was to be converted into eighteen flats for Newydd social housing. We were contracted to complete all plumbing and mechanical works. This installation consisted of gas boilers, gas pipework, boosted cold water tank/pump set, all sanitaryware, LTHW radiators, level access shower facilities and all associated pipework and drainage. For the heating and domestic services, we used copper and plastic pipe materials, solvent weld waste for the drainage and corrugated stainless for the gas. Due to its size, we appointed a mechanical working foreman to co-ordinate the project alongside the main contractor. Due to its labour demands and other projects, we seen our workforce grow quite rapidly. A very enjoyable project that finished in the summer of 2022.

In October 2019 we sub -contracted as extra labour to help complete the new Covid 19 ward at the University Hospital of Wales. There was a real sense of urgency to get the project completed to help battle the virus. We were tasked with completing the plant room which would supply the whole 400 bed building with its heating and hot water. The plant room consisted of a 6” welded header, 2” sub headers, VT & CT circuits, pump sets, a plate heat exchanger and calorifier. After the pump sets the system would be made using copper pipe and press fittings, this would help us accelerate the speed of the installation. After ten weeks the plant room was completed December 2019.

In May 2022 we were awarded a large contract lasting- eighteen months at the Tesco Distribution Centre. As part of the dilapidations, we were contracted to upgrade the existing gas ring main, male and female WC’s and all associated plumbing. The 6” gas ring main circled the building branching off to various plant. The ring main was tested at the meter, after a very short test there was a substantial leak. The gas was isolated and made safe and the client was then informed. As a result of the leak, we were instructed to install a new gas main. This would consist of 60meters of MDPE pipe, fusion weld fittings, transition couplers and isolation valves. Upon completion the installation was tested, purged, and certified.

At St Fagans Cricket club we renewed the club's gas fired Andrews hot water calorifier. This served multiple hot water outlets including, the large shower area. With limited space to operate in, we managed to safely de-commission the existing calorifier, install new and recommission in less than 48hrs from receiving the order. A club at the heart of its community. A fantastic local project to be involved with.

BRISTOL AIRPORT

Project Details

At Bristol Airport we had the pleasure of supplying & installing the sanitaryware in the staff WC’s in Arrivals. For security reasons we took part in multiple security checks to gain clearances to work on site. The new look was complete with IPS panelling, back to wall pans, chrome flush plates, DocM pack and urinals with a concealed sparge pipe system. All pipework was chlorinated upon completion. The project lasted approximately twelve weeks.

ROLLS ROYCE

At Rolls Royce we installed high spec Vitra sanitaryware. The refurbishment included both male & female toilet and shower areas. Where possible all pipework and drainage was to be concealed behind IPS panelling, where exposed we would use chrome pipe and fittings. All wash basins were protected using TMV’S. We were also tasked with supplying and installing the porcelain floor and wall tiles
